Message from the Dean
Medical education is not only the foundation of individual professional development but also a cornerstone of public health, the sustainability of health policies, and national progress. The quality and safety of healthcare services can only be ensured through a robust and scientifically grounded medical education system.
At Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine, our goal is to educate physicians who are not only well-informed but also capable of analytical thinking, committed to ethical values, highly productive in scientific research, and sensitive to community-based healthcare. With a full-time, competent, and merit-based academic staff experienced in medical education, an integrated curriculum, and a clinical training model embedded within its own hospital, our faculty is among the leading foundation medical schools in Turkey.
Our medical education program was accredited in 2022 by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD), meeting nationally and internationally recognized quality standards. This accreditation process has demonstrated the coherence of our curriculum, the effectiveness of our clinical practices, and the validity of our learning outcomes—showing our commitment to instilling both scientific competence and professional responsibility in our students.
Having our own hospital allows for early integration of students into the clinical environment and strengthens student-faculty interaction through personalized mentorship programs. A low student-to-faculty ratio provides a significant advantage for individualized medical education, while also enhancing our students’ participation in scientific research, social responsibility projects, and international representation year by year.
With the establishment of the Ufuk University Faculty of Medicine Alumni Association in 2023, we aim to strengthen our ties with graduates, support the principle of lifelong learning, and institutionalize a culture of academic solidarity.
Medical education must be built on a foundation of high responsibility, ethical sensitivity, lifelong learning, and profound respect for humanity. The words of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, “Entrust me to Turkish doctors,” are not only a declaration of trust but also the essence of the historical mission assigned to Turkish medicine. Staying true to this mission, we are determined to train physicians who combine knowledge with virtue, science with conscience, and who possess not only professional expertise but also societal leadership qualities.
Sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Berkay Ekici
