Our Mission
The mission of the MIS Department is to train innovative, ethically grounded, solution-oriented individuals with analytical thinking skills by integrating information technologies and management sciences, thus contributing qualified professionals to both national and international business sectors.
Our Vision

We aim to be an education and research center that keeps pace with ever-evolving technologies and trains experts who are leaders in the business world.
The Role of the Department in Academic and Technological Developments
Today, the rapid development of IT and management sciences has led to the emergence of a multidisciplinary field that provides academic solutions to problems businesses face in areas such as decision support systems, enterprise resource planning, business process management, new business model development, production of new products and services, and gaining competitive advantage. Globally recognized as Management Information Systems, this field is seen as a driving force for companies aiming to achieve strategic business goals in competitive environments. Academic studies in this field offer significant opportunities for integrating IT with new management approaches to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration with Other Departments in the Faculty
The MIS Department operates in interaction and collaboration with the Business Administration and International Trade departments within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Career day events organized by the university’s Career Guidance Office and department career advisors aim to encourage students to work together with peers from other departments and develop joint projects.
Career Opportunities
With the growth and diversification of economic and commercial activities in Turkey, effective business management has gained increasing importance and value. In the highly competitive global environment, companies focus on strategic goals such as developing new products, services, and business models, providing decision support, integrating suppliers and customers, gaining competitive advantages, and ensuring sustainability. To achieve these goals and remain operational, companies must generate profit. This is only possible with effective managers and a team of MIS professionals who can help guide businesses toward their strategic goals.
According to the decision by the Interuniversity Council dated March 16, 2009, graduates of the MIS Department are entitled to use the title “Management Information Specialist” (MIS). MIS professionals identify a business’s IT needs, set goals, create plans to achieve those goals, and determine the necessary hardware, software, and personnel. They can be employed in IT departments of public or private sector organizations in areas such as software development, system operations, database management, network administration, information security, enterprise resource planning, and project management. Additionally, they can work in functional departments such as human resources, accounting, sales and marketing, production management, customer relationship management, purchasing, public relations, and R&D. MIS professionals also have job opportunities in public institutions, tax offices, investment and financial institutions, and both public and private banks.
In conclusion, MIS graduates have a wide range of career opportunities. There is a growing demand for MIS professionals, especially in sectors that heavily rely on IT, such as computing, communications, and finance. MIS professionals can work independently in business, management, and IT or in interdisciplinary fields that combine these areas.
